The Person I Met

After I came to India, I never imagined that this journey would lead me to someone who would become so important in my life.

At that time, I was still beginning a new life. I didn't know the language well, I wasn't familiar with the places around me, and I was still learning how to live in a country that was so different from my home.

I wasn't looking for anyone.

Especially not love.

After what I had experienced in my previous relationship, I had promised myself that I would not easily open my heart to anyone again.

But sometimes, the person we are not looking for is the person who finds their way into our life.

I met him through an app.

At first, I didn't think the relationship would become serious.

He was simply a man I had started talking to. But he began helping me, caring about me, and being there for me while I was trying to adjust to my new life in India.

Little by little, he became more than someone I had met through an app.

He became part of my everyday life.

He helped me understand life in India. He helped me with the language and taught me many things I had never known before.

For a woman living in another country for the first time, having someone beside you during those unfamiliar days can mean more than other people may understand.

And without realizing it, my feelings began to change.

A person I had just met became someone I started to trust.

Someone I never expected to take seriously became someone I started to imagine a future with.

I began to think...

Maybe this was the person I could build a family with.

I didn't know what the future would bring.

I didn't know where this love would take me.

But at that time, I believed in what I felt.

And I had no idea that...

A love that began with hope would one day be tested by trust, doubt, and pain.

But none of that had happened on the day we first met.

On that day, I only knew that someone was beginning to become part of my life.
