Love & Trust

When love is challenged by doubt, misunderstandings, and the realities of life together.

As our relationship became more serious, my feelings began to change.

He was no longer simply someone who had entered my life. He became someone I began to imagine my future with.

I started thinking about building a family, believing in promises, and placing my hopes for the future into this relationship.

But after about six months, something began to change.

He became more suspicious of me.

Sometimes I felt that no matter what I said or did, he still could not fully trust me.

I tried to explain myself. I tried to show him that I was sincere and that my feelings for him were real.

But as time passed, trust became a problem that we had to face again and again.

Then one day, something happened involving his ex.

His ex wanted to get back together with him.

Because of what happened, I had to stay somewhere else for a period of time.

The reason I was given at that time was not the same as what I later came to understand.

It was a painful and confusing time for me.

I didn't know what to believe. I didn't know whether I should keep going or walk away.

But even after everything that happened, my feelings for him did not disappear.

Eventually, we talked again and came back to living together.

But coming back together did not mean that everything became the same.

The love was still there.

But the trust was not the same anymore.

We still had days when we loved each other, days when we were happy, and days when we argued.

Sometimes I asked myself:

Is he still with me because he truly loves me, or because he feels sorry for me?

That was never a question I wanted to have in our relationship.

Because I don't want someone to stay with me out of pity.

I want the person beside me to choose to stay because of love, trust, and the desire to build a future together.

Love gave me hope.

But love alone may not be enough to build a life together.

A relationship needs love, honesty, understanding, and most importantly...

Trust.

And this is what this love has been teaching me.

Loving someone is not only about trying to hold on to them.

Sometimes, we also have to learn how to protect ourselves.

This is another chapter of our story. ❤️
